Accessibility Statement
This statement was last updated on 12.09.2025
We at Nibbana Trails are working to make our site accessible to people with disabilities.
At Nibbana Trails, we are inspired by Dalai Lama's quote, 'when we are young we rely on the kindness of our care givers, and when we are oppressed by the sickness of old age, we again rely on the kindness of others, therefore, we must not neglect kindess in between'. With this belief in our hearts we will strive to include all types of people.
We aim to design and deliver our services in line with recognized accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA) where feasible. We work toward barrier-free travel experiences by collaborating with local partners in Bhutan who share our values of inclusivity. We are transparent about challenges and committed to ongoing improvements.
Website Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to access our website easily.
-
Navigation: Menus and buttons can be used with screen readers and keyboard navigation.
-
Images: Alternative text (alt text) is provided for meaningful images.
-
Text readability: High-contrast fonts and uncluttered layouts support easier reading.
-
Forms: Online forms are labeled clearly for assistive technologies.
-
Documents: PDFs and downloadable resources are available in accessible formats upon request.
Travel & On-Ground Accessibility
Natural landscape of all destinations and sometimes the architecture present barriers. While not all trails are wheelchair-accessible, we support participants by offering:
-
Custom itineraries with less physically demanding routes and accessible accommodations, where possible.
-
Alternative wellness activities (e.g., meditation, herbal therapies) for those unable to join hikes or high-altitude treks.
-
Dietary support, with advance notice, for common allergies and restrictions.
-
Local assistance, through guides trained to adapt experiences to individual needs.
Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing process. We review our website, services, and partnerships regularly to ensure greater inclusivity. Your experiences guide us, and we are committed to learning and evolving so that Nibbana Trails remains welcoming for all travelers.
